Watching the news today, I was overwhelmed to see the Iraqi citizens welcoming our soldiers with open arms and thank yous!! It was one of the most touching scenes , especially when one man told one of the US Marines that they have been waiting for us to come back since 1991, and it brought me to tears. Just think of being ruled by a cruel and evil dictator who has oppressed his people for 35 yrs and then to finally taste freedom, and say and do what you've been wanting to for all those years has to be the most amazing feeling of relief and pure joy! This is definitely a day for the history books.

God Bless Our Troops on the rest of their mission!!

Hey, Angie!! I haven't seen you around the mansion today and I was getting worried! I didn't get to see much of the news today, but of course heard it on the radio. I did see some footage though. I'm with you, it does make me feel good to see all of those people out in the streets, celebrating! I've said all along that I think liberating them is a great thing, I just wish I could believe that was the reason we went in. I know our troops are fighting for the freedom of those people, but the reasons of our Government is another thing in my opinion. The people of Iraq being free from Saddam is a wonderful thing. I can't imagine living in a place like that, with no freedom.

Sorry Luv, I didn't mean to worry you, but it's sweet of you!! *hugs* I was at the Mansion off and on, and I got the 2 newbies for today, but I've had a sinus headache and wasn't in the posting mood. Next time I'll be sure to check in. *giggle*
