I had a great time this past weekend! Saturday, Kaitlin's ceramics class at the University Art Warehouse was sponsoring Empty Bowls. You can go and make bowls on the pottery wheel and then they fire them and glaze them and in April they will be on sale and all the proceeds go to the Food Bank. I made 2 bowls and it was so much fun, and way harder than I ever imagined! Kaitlin is really in her element there and it's amazing watching her! She makes me so proud and I still can't believe she's 20 and a junior in college. Time really does fly by.

So this is me and my first ever bowl! Lol!


Sunday, I did nothing but sleep late and read fanfic! It was wonderful! Oh, and yoga! I have been doing yoga everyday for at least 30 minutes since last Wednesday! I'm starting to get back in my groove, and feeling pretty good.

I also took my glasses and had the eye doc check them since I couldn't see a bloody thing out of the progressive bifocal and they were way off! I now have new lenses and they are awesome, and most importantly...I can see!!

Work was hell this week so I started my weekend off right and had Chili's ribs for dinner with chocolate chip molten lava cake for desert. Yummm! Then I came home and put my jammies on and have been reading some Trueblood fanfic and relaxing. It's so nice to just do nothing. *sigh*

I really enjoyed Supernatural last night...very entertaining I must say, and having two Deans on the screen was quite a treat for the eyes and should be illegal! Really loving this season so far and can't believe I just started watching faithfully midseason last yr. Luckily Fringe is on hulu! All the good shows are on Thursdays at the same times this season.

Kaitlin's been making me watch the Vampire Diaries with her since it's on before but I just can't get into it. So I'm at least making the effort for some mother daughter time even though the main vampire reminds me of a brooding Angel with his oh tormented me act, and I was wishing death of the blonde girl in the first episode since she annoyed me so much. Hee! Almost got my wish last night...almost. My favorite part is every time I think someones gonna get attacked I say, "well she's dead...or yep he's toast" and Kaitlin says,"OMG would you stop Mom". What can I say...It keeps me entertained. :P

I've been a busy, busy girl the last couple of months with very little time to post. I think that's why I'm enjoying twitter quite a bit, since it's short little posts and I can keep up. But I felt it was time for a real update so here it goes...


In May, I went on Kaitlin's 8th grade trip to Virginia Beach, VA on a bus...it took almost 10hours...I will not be doing that again! The beach and Colonial Willamsburg were both nice, but I was exhausted for days after. I just can't beleive my babygirl is starting high school in August. *sniff*

In June, Mike and I watersealed the deck and worked around the house cleaning gutters, planting flowers and general yard stuff...the house looks better than it has in a long time which makes me very happy! It's so nice to have all the big chores out of the way, but I still have so much more to do, like going through clothes, and getting rid of a bunch of Kaitlin's things she never even looks at anymore.

And this month, well, my birthday was July 1st and Mike's was July 11th so we went to Myrtle Beach for 4days. Kaitlin brought a friend and it was so nice to just relax...now that Kaitlin's older she can do things she wants *within reason* without having me chase after her. So Mike and got to sit on the beach and just be, just thinking about it makes me smile. Hee!

I've been watching TrueBlood season 2...so far very entertaining, and I've watched seasons 1-3 of Gilmore Girls and waiting on S4 in the mail. I think when I'm finished with those I will be starting on Supernatural, and catching up on 4 books I need to read. Shouldn't I be like working in some exercise in there??? I guess I get that by picking green beans and corn at dads and I've already started up the canning again. Wheew! I said I was busy. ;)

Anywho, I hope my f-list is doing well, and I'll try to catch up on that this weekend.

Yesterday was my day off and I took Kaitlin school clothes shopping, which of course I decided I needed some new school clothes too! :P I mean I'm sure she wouldn't want me driving her to school in something old, right? And new sunglasses were a must especially at buy one get one free! Then we splurged and we both got a Vera Bradley purse. I had never seen or heard about them until last month when I got a flyer in the mail from Merle Norman cosmetics, and low and behold they sell purses! Who'd a thunk it? Anywho, they are cloth and you can pick from many different patterns, styles, and accessories and they are so cute! Mine is a hipster, so you can adjust the strap and wear it across your body like a messanger bag only way cuter, and it's mostly black with a daisy print and it has wittle owls on it...I just love it! Hee!

It was a really nice day off, and we a accomplished what we wanted to and more!

Last night I called angstchic, *HUGS* and we FINALLY got to catch up!! It was crazy fun as always and there were discussions about sinking ducks, nekkid pork chops, and pod people. How could you not thoroughly enjoy those topics? HEE! :D

I decided to take the afternoon off work today so I could get Kaitlins clothes in some kind of order. The child has a ton of t-shirts but I can't find any of her long sleeved shirts. I'm starting to think she has out grown all of them and I haven't really replaced anything. *oops* I really am a good mom...really, just slightly scatterbrained lately. Now I get to add a shopping trip to the list for this weekend which could work in my favor. :P

Must finish the sorting of the clothes....

I actually had quite a nice weekend for a change!! YAY!

Friday: My friend (from work) and I went to see Elizabethtown, and we both loved it! I only had one gripe, and that was with the ending. It was too short/quick...I'm hoping the DVD will have the full version. Other than that all was good...there were parts that reminded me sooo much of my huge family on my dads side and I laughed out loud several times. Hee! Also, Kaitlin got her report card and she made straight A's for the 1st 6weeks of 5th grade. I am one proud Mama!!

Saturday: Errand/grocery shopping day...That part went fine, but the part where I said,"When we get home we are going through all the winter clothes..." not so much. Hee! I was a lazy slug the rest of the day and barely cooked dinner. :P

Sunday: Made vegetable soup and cornbread...and actually did a couple loads of laundry. That's an accomplishment, especially seeing how I had my jammies on until around 4pm. :D

Well that sums up my weekend, and I'm currently making my list of "things I have to do this week" right now. I lead such an exciting life! ;)

And before I forget...angstchic, I lurve the new Goldfrapp CD...2,3, and 6 are my faves so far. Thanks again girl! *hugs*
