Moonlight Rising~Saturday
Jun. 10th, 2004 08:45 amSaturday was a great day for me, because I had my photo op with James. *sigh* I still get the warm fuzzies when I think about it... I was number 26, and sitting in the second row waiting for him to come in the room. When they said James Marsters is in the house, the first thing I did was look at his hair. Hee! He said, "Hello" and then he plopped himself down on the bar stool they had set up, legs splayed open, and he did that thing with his tongue, and I think I was hypnotized, because next thing I know my row was getting up to take our picture. He was being so sweet and playful, and he seemed happy and very relaxed. I tried very hard not to be nervous and to actually form words this time, and I did! I was introduced to him and he shook my hand, then he put his arm around my waist and I had my arm around his shoulders, and he pulled me up against his side and smooshed our faces together for the picture. It was a lovely experience, and even though it only lasted about 30 seconds, I will never forget it. Afterwards I met back up with the hubby, and I gave him the full report, along with a demonstration, while he laughed at me being all giddy. I stayed high on my cloud the rest of the day!
Next, we went to the Buffy Panel which included Danny Strong, Tom Lenk, Iyari Limon (sp?), Adam Busch, and James Leary. The Trio were hilarious, especially Danny and Tom, and when someone asked Adam an extremely long question, he looked at them and said...WHAT? It was sooo funny, and also someone asked Adam how he felt when Warren killed Tara, and Tom replied with, "well you know she's really not dead, and her name is Amber Benson", and then when they were asked about their acting careers after Buffy, Tom was really rubbing it in about being on Angel and I swear he is so Andrew in real life. I just loved them! Hee! After the Buffy Panel, we got our autographs from Danny, Tom, Adam, Iyari, Stephanie, and James Leary, and I had all the Buffy guys sign a T-shirt that says (on the back) Now leaving Sunnydale, and it has their names listed in alpha order. It looks pretty cool! The we left and went back to our room, ordered room service, and I took a 2hour nap.
Then it was time for the concerts...Common Rotation was first and they were out of this world! I've never heard them before, and I never really liked Adam, because of the whole squicky Warren thing, but I have new respect for him now. He is an awesome performer, and Eric is amazing as well! I really wish I would have bought their cd while I was there, but I'm sure I can get one somewhere. Ghost of the Robot came out about 30min later, and the sound wasn't nearly as good as it was with CoRo, but I still enjoyed watching James "the rock star" out on stage. Yes, he was drunk...he said so himself that he was never drinking Jack Daniels again. So he made a bad decision, he's a MAN, and he's HUMAN, and he's allowed to make mistakes like the rest of us, and he owns up to them afterwards, because he apologized during his Q&A session the next day. In my opinion, it's done, it's over, I wasn't upset about it, and I didn't go to the concert thinking they would sound awesome either, because the sound was muddy even in the Q&A's. I just hate all the negative comments floating around, because it makes me sad, and I won't discuss it further.
I had the most amazing time, and I really think if you go to the convention looking for problems, and nit picking, you will find them. Me...I went to see my friends, James, and have a nice weekend with my hubby. I loved every minute of it!
Wow! I think that's the longest post I've ever had, but I didn't want to forget anything! Last will be Sunday's festivities, and I will try to get that done by tomorrow. :)
